Shraddha is passionate about arts and design. It is a gift she has received from her parents. While her father works as a street vendor, and mother is a homemaker, as a family they spend time together drawing beautiful natural patterns on the walls of their small house.  

“Since a young age, I enjoyed making drawings. Something I learnt from my parents, watching them do it at home. They are very fond of drawing nature, either as wall art or on sheets,” she says. 

When her parents migrated from Andhra Pradesh in Southern India to Maharashtra state on the west side, little did they know that their daughter would someday put her gift to use in the least expected places. For instance, science diagrams and projects. Through eLearning, Shraddha has been able to witness drawings in motion through educational videos. 

“In science, I get to draw diagrams which I really enjoy. Thanks to the STEM lab, I find science very easy now. In science chapter videos shown to us during class, the drawings are in motion which lets me see the objects in real time and helps me cover all dimensions and draw better,” she explains. 

Missing school on a Friday is a big no for the grade 9 student, for it is the only time of the week, she is in the STEM lab exploring science concepts in practice. Speaking of her enthusiasm for digital learning, she says, “When there was no digital learning in class, we would still study and learn the answers to write in our exams. But now with access to practicals and lab experiments, we understand science concepts much better.”

Admitting that this shift in the medium of learning has left a remarkable impact in her learning experience, she talks of her other favourites. However, one can spot a faint low in her voice towards the end statement. “I also really enjoy maths equations now and history lessons. Most of the time, the historical places we read about cannot be visited in person. But through eLearning platforms and history videos, we get to see the places on screen and find more about them.”
